Parakeet joins Mallo for multilingual dictation
Mallo now includes Parakeet as a speech provider, adding stronger multilingual model options alongside Whisper.
Mallo is no longer a Whisper-only story. Parakeet is now part of the speech model lineup, which gives multilingual users a better set of local transcription options.
What Parakeet Adds
Parakeet expands the shape of the model catalog with options tuned for multilingual speech and broader language coverage.
That matters if you switch between languages often or want a model path that is not defined only by the Whisper family.
Where It Fits
Parakeet sits next to Whisper, not behind it. You can compare tradeoffs more directly across providers instead of thinking about one provider as the only default.
This also makes the models page more honest: different users need different strengths.
Why We Shipped It
Local dictation gets much better when model choice is real. Adding Parakeet is part of making Mallo more flexible for multilingual work, not just faster for one narrow case.
