Mallo 1.2.28
Mallo 1.2.28 keeps completed dictation flowing into the focused field even when Command, Shift, Option, or Control is held.
Mallo 1.2.28 keeps completed dictation from disappearing when you are already reaching for a keyboard shortcut. Your words now enter the focused text field normally even if Command, Shift, Option, or Control is held as the result arrives.
Release Highlights
- Keep moving while dictation finishes. You can prepare your next keyboard shortcut without waiting for the transcript to appear first.
- Held modifier keys stay under your control. Mallo inserts the result as plain text without releasing or changing the key you are holding.
- Fewer missing transcripts. A modifier press at exactly the wrong moment no longer turns incoming dictation into an unintended shortcut.
What Changed In Real Use
Previously, you might finish speaking and press Command while Mallo was still processing—perhaps getting ready to send a message or open another shortcut. If the transcript arrived at that exact moment, the focused app could interpret the incoming text as part of the shortcut, and nothing would appear in the field.
This patch separates Mallo's text insertion from the modifier key you are holding. The transcript appears where your cursor is, while your physical key press remains available for whatever you do next.
Why This Patch Matters
Dictation should fit into the way you already use your keyboard. You can speak, reach for the next shortcut, and trust that the finished text will still arrive.

Dictation still lands even when focus gets messy
Mallo now handles no-focus dictation more gracefully, so your words are less likely to disappear when there is nowhere obvious to type.
