Modifier-only hotkeys for dictation
Use a single modifier key like Command, Control, Shift, or Option for hold-to-talk or toggle dictation in Mallo.
You can now use a single modifier key as your dictation shortcut.
That means bindings like Left Command, Right Command, Left Control, Right Shift, or Right Option now work as real Mallo hotkeys.
Better One-Handed Control
Some shortcuts feel best when they disappear into muscle memory.
With modifier-only hotkeys, you can keep dictation close to the keys you already rest on instead of reaching for a bigger combo every time.
Works for Hold and Toggle
Mallo now supports single modifier keys for both styles:
- hold-to-talk
- toggle dictation
If you prefer one shared shortcut, a quick tap can toggle and a longer hold can still behave like hold-to-talk.
Built to Avoid Misfires
Single-key hotkeys need tighter handling than normal shortcuts.
Mallo watches for chorded presses so Command used as part of another shortcut does not get treated like a dictation tap by accident.
